The Official Red Dwarf Fan Club

Team

The fan club team consists of eight members. We all work very hard putting together a fantastic magazine, website and organising an almost yearly Red Dwarf convention Dimension Jump. Want to know more? Then read on...

James Bull Chairperson of The Official Red Dwarf Fan Club and collector of all things Dwarf. Has been voted and won the most obsessed fan two years running on Captain Darling's New Years honours list and is more like Rimmer than he admits... BSc SSc.

NAME: James Bull
ROLE IN CLUB: Chairman, club accounts, DJ organiser and will do almost anything in the name of Red Dwarf.
FAVOURITE EPISODE: White Hole. It even has a toaster! Ok it's bread obsessed, but Holly with 12,000 IQ is the best crumpet I've ever seen!
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Spent a day filming for Sky TV on the history of Kryten, not so much crazy as an eye opener in the world of TV.
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: I have quite a few but the best of the lot is an actual piece of the original ship from series V, from the episode Demons and Angels.

Carrie Parsons

NAME: Carrie Parsons
ROLE IN CLUB: Membership Co-Ordinator
FIRST SAW RED DWARF: I have hazy memories of recreating Lister's 'baseball bat to the crotch' gag (from 'Polymorph') in the school playground so I'm guessing I must have watched the Series III re-run in the early '90s.
FAVOURITE EPISODE: 'Psirens'. A good episode for introducing to new viewers, or for a Friday night in with a curry!
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Used it as the basis of a chat-up line! Luckily the bloke was just as obsessed with Red Dwarf as I am, and ten years later we're married with a mini-smeghead-in-training...
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: The original script for 'The Inquisitor' signed by Doug Naylor.

Joanna Sharples Jo's responsibilities include publicising the fan club online, helping to co-ordinate content for the magazine and generally kicking bottom. If you see her in the bar at DJ, her's is a vodka and coke with no lemon.

NAME: Joanna Sharples
ROLE IN CLUB: PA and Social Media Manager, Dimension Jump Organiser
FIRST SAW RED DWARF: Watched from the very beginning - 1988.
FAVOURITE EPISODE: Pete pt2... No? :oP Back to Reality or Backwards (for the Manchester connection.)
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Pulling an all nighter at DJXIII and going on the now infamous "Walk in the woods".
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: My photos with the cast.

Liam Fretwell Liam is behind the scenes for the most of the time but without him DJ would be deaf, blind and without the quizmaster! A tip this year is not to dance the death of the camcorder. Liam also does the layout and design of our new magazine and creates original video productions on behalf of the fan club.

NAME: Liam Fretwell
ROLE IN CLUB: Media, Video and Design, Back To Reality Co-Editor
FAVOURITE EPISODE: Dimension Jump because it introduces us to Ace Rimmer! I also like Thanks For the Memory and Better Than Life; and well, most of Series II really.
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Almost destroyed my camcorder at DJ thanks to a certain Mr. Craig Charles!
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: While not technically Red Dwarf, Mike Tucker and Nick Kool signed one of my Daleks at DJ, does that count?

Prue Mosman

NAME: Prue Mosman
ROLE IN CLUB: Australian Branch of The Official Red Dwarf Fan Club, Back To Reality Co-Editor
FIRST SAW RED DWARF: Around the mid 90s (I must have led a sheltered upbringing before then!)
FAVOURITE EPISODE: Terrorform
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Don't know about crazy, but trying to educate students on the magnificence that is Red Dwarf.
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: I love everything I own of Red Dwarf!

Jonathan Capps Jonathan loves to make websites. He also loves Red Dwarf. The more astute among you will have probably worked out from the evidence given the reasons he now occupies this post.

NAME: Jonathan Capps
ROLE IN CLUB: Website Co-Ordinator
FIRST SAW RED DWARF: I have it on good authority (my mother) that I was watching it with her from the very beginning. Not sure I believe her, though, as my first memories of the show seem to center around series IV.
FAVOURITE EPISODE: My current favourite in an ever changing position is Future Echoes.
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Eaten cornflakes with onions sprinkled on top in a DJ competition. Needless to say I won and instantly went away to throw up triumphantly.
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: An early cover concept for an unreleased Series 1 VHS double pack, signed "Rejected, Doug Naylor" by the man himself.

Jez Harrison

NAME: Jez Harrison
ROLE IN CLUB: Merchandise Co-ordinator
FIRST SAW RED DWARF: Some point during the first series, I snook into the front room when i was supposed to be in bed and watched it from behind the settee.
FAVOURITE EPISODE: Who can have one favourite? - but I often bounce between 'The End' and 'Marooned'.
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: Probably performing Marooned on stage in front of a shedload of people for a performing art piece.
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: I have so many! Though the Remastered 1-3 Box set was my first 'big' thing, and the beginning of a era for me.

Alex Newsome

NAME: Alex Newsome
ROLE IN CLUB: Senior Staff Writer
FIRST SAW RED DWARF: I saw the last five minutes of Out Of Time in 93, and tracked down videos of older episodes from the local library.
FAVOURITE EPISODE: Gunmen Of The Apocalypse; especially since Laredo is just down the road from where I live.
CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE IN THE NAME OF RED DWARF: There's a few, but arranging and recording a version of Lunar City Seven on a train was fairly unusual.
MOST TREASURED PIECE OF RED DWARF MEMORABILIA: My Mr Flibble, simply because it has sat on top of my amp at every gig I have played with my band.
